01 / INTRODUCTION

Introduction

I am a master’s student in China Development Studies at the University of Hong Kong, where I completed a Bachelor of Economics and Finance with a second major in Geography. My interests span economic geography, China development, gender studies and sociology, with a particular focus on gender inequality, migration and demography, labour-market inequality, and urban and regional development. I am interested in how local conditions, institutions and spatial connections shape employment opportunities, firm behaviour and social differences. My undergraduate geography project used firm-level panel data to examine supplier geographic distance and customer digital transformation. As a research assistant, I supported work on regional unemployment, graduate labour markets and China’s foreign-policy discourse. Fieldwork in Guangzhou and Western Sichuan extended my engagement with urban change, mobility and local culture. Research on geography education also led me to consider how knowledge enters curricula and classrooms. Together, these experiences inform my use of quantitative analysis, GIS and qualitative research to examine social and spatial questions.

06 / TEACHING

Teaching & tutoring

IGCSE · AP · IB · A LEVEL

I have taught across the IGCSE, AP, IB and A Level curricula, covering geography, economics and business. My teaching brings together conceptual explanation, case analysis and practice questions. I help students connect ideas and develop structured written responses. Lessons include topic review, interpretation of data and source material, exam practice and specific feedback on how to build an answer.

Geography

Physical and human geography taught through maps, data and case studies. Topics include population, cities, freshwater, climate and resource security, alongside geographical investigation design and data interpretation.

Economics

Conceptual explanation, case application and written-answer practice, helping students connect economic reasoning with specific contexts.

Business & management

Business and management concepts taught through organisational contexts and case questions. Management teaching also covers motivation, communication, conflict, organisational structure and performance management.

Teaching approach

Lessons move from key concepts to question requirements and structured application. Practice, feedback and revision tasks check whether students can explain and use what they have learned independently.
